KPC, Inc. in Albany NY is a NON PROFIT Family Practice offering Adult, Adolescent, Pediatric primary care, with Gynecological, Preventative, and Mental Healthcare Services.

From the opening of the practice in 2002, Dr.Bob Paeglow insisted that NO patient be TURNED AWAY due to lack of medical insurance or means to pay. Koinonia gave free uncompensated care to hundreds of patients in the past 15 years. Koinonia and Dr. Bob truly put the "care" in healthcare.

The clinic recently added group counseling sessions for Pain Management, Weight Management, and Smoking Cessation, all covered under major insurance payors.

Each year we are adding services to meet the needs of our community.

Koinonia is in the process of qualifying as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)

The patient-centered medical home (PCMH) is a model of care that aims to transform the delivery of comprehensive primary care to children, adolescents, and adults. Through the medical home model, KPC, Inc. seeks to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the care they deliver while responding to each patient’s unique needs and preferences.

2017 Providers: The clinic is pleased to announce the addition of physicians Jeff Stark M.D. and Amelia Maas M.D. to the Koinonia staff in 2017.

In October 2012,  Koinonia Primary Care PC became "Koinonia Primary Care Inc, a freestanding Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Center, certified by the NY State Department of Health.

Between 2012 and 2017 the clinic has grown, adding providers and services and serving many more patients in the community. With approval of the ACA(Obamacare) the majority of the patient base was able to obtain healthcare, although the uninsured and indigent still received free care. The overall health of the community improved and mortality rates in major areas of disease began to drop.

The clinic still depends on donations and grants to keep the doors open. Adding equipment , staff and services is an up hill battle and any help( volunteers, donations etc) is greatly appreciated. They still need updated equipment such as xray, lab, ultrasound, as well as basic computer technology such as laptops and tablets.

Donations of equipment are welcome!

KPC Inc. had applied for a grant to become an FQHC ( Federally Qualified Health Center) which would greatly expand the services to the community, but instability and change in Healthcare legislation may be an obstacle. We will have to wait and see if that will come to pass!
